The Municipality of Sella Giudicarie with its 3,000 inhabitants came into being when the communities of
Bondo,
Breguzzo,
Lardaro and
Roncone were merged. The area straddles across Sella di Bondo, the watershed between the Chiese and Sarca rivers.
Sella Giudicarie is set amidst green meadows, fields and woods and rises from the “Busa” – a basin enclosing the villages of the Giudicarie Centrali - up to Cima Cop di Breguzzo in the Adamello Mountain Group (3,001 m a.s.l), south of the
Adamello Brenta Nature Park. Thanks to several important archaeological findings, the human settlement in this area can now be dated back to the first Bronze Age.
Alongside the traditional rural economy, tourism has grown fast over the last few decades. The villages of the Sella Giudicarie municipality are great starting points for extremely interesting hikes in a beautiful natural environment: a special treat for wildlife and geology lovers.
